Buffalo...The Buffalo is my Northern totem. He has chosen to be my totem to show me that all my needs will be met thru prayer and to teach me to be grateful for what I have been given. The Buffalo is also a healer totem.
Snake...The Snake is a symbol of transformation and sits in the South. It sheds it's skin and therefore symbolizes rebirth. My journey is a new birth of idealism and beliefs and should shed my old beliefs..
Eagle...The Eagle like the Christian angel, delivers prayers to the Great Spirit. The eagle soars between heaven and earth with no conviction to weigh it down. He rests in the East and rises like the sun. The sun is an important symbol for the Eeyou People.
Lizard...The Lizard is the connector to visions. He teaches us the importance of rembering our dreams. This is symbolized by the soaking up of the sun's heat as the Lizard basks on a rock. This Totem rests in the West
Elk...The Elk is what I call my Master Totem Spirit. He sits at the center of my medicine wheel to guide me through the teachings of the other Spirits. The Elk teaches that life is a long journey and that I can not hurry thru it. I must take strength in that knowledge. I am to call on him when I need strength to continue my lifes journey
Pigeon...Today I found a message from the pigeons. I had walked to the back yard of my Mothers home and the feathers were not on the path I walked. ten minutes later, I came back home the same way and the area was covered in pigeon feathers. Legend says that feathers will be found when you are on the right path. The Pigeon represents romantic love, loyalty, peace, and innocents. |
